Software Quality Assurance Programmer:  Lead QA Engineer in the Analytics department.  Analyzed and verified SQL Database Table integrity, Statistical Models, and SAS code. Automated all existing Analytics Department tests by translating from Excel to SQL.  Created new automated simulation tests by translating existing SAS statistical models, waterfalls and calculations to SQL and comparing results.  Created an automated UI test framework for data entry and data analysis tests in TFS using C# and SQL. Created a multi-threaded load test in TFS using C#. Developed, performed, and maintained Test Plans, Test Cases, and Automated Tests. Tech Support: Assisted members and prospective members with creating accounts, installing AOL software, resetting passwords, and troubleshooting technical problems.

 

iLumin Corporation - Orem, Utah                                                                                            2000 to 2001

Software Quality Specialist:  Assisted in setting up the QA department.  Lead Architect of the Software Quality Assurance department. Wrote over 200 XML-based tests. Developed API test interfaces using Java, Javascript, and JSP. Compiled a knowledge base library. Trained Quality Assurance personnel in technical issues. Supervised code reviews and helped with the design of software. 

             

Iomega – (Contract & Permanent) – Roy, Utah                                                                              1996 to 1999

Quality Engineer: Lead Engineer over the localization section of the Product Assurance Subsystems department, supervising a team of seven QA Technicians. Designed and programmed a Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) bug database using Remedy, obtaining a Six Sigma Green Belt while doing it. Developed reusable, modularized test plans and procedures for testing localized software. Developed a process for using Ghost imaging software. Initiated automated WinRunner test tools use, programming 6 scripts in 13 languages and 5 operating systems in less than 6 months, reducing technician manual testing time up to 90%.

 

Zions Bank (Contract) – SLC, Utah                                                                                                         1997

Quality Assurance Engineer:  Designed and implemented structured test plans for NT/Netware. Tested banking software for Windows NT compatibility, security, and Y2K compliance. Liaison for the QA and Lab teams. Trained team members on imaging software and network connectivity. Assured network operating status.  Designed and implemented NT/Netware testing environment, decreasing travel time and increasing productivity by 40%.  Developed pre-development software library checkout system, eliminating idle wait-time. 

 

Allen Communication – SLC, Utah                                                                                            1994 to 1996

Team Lead:  Team Lead for award winning Designer's Edge. Developed automated test scripts using Visual Test / Basic. Wrote technical editorials, trained in-house trainers and tech support personnel, and built post-release maintenance upgrades and install programs. Instrumental in improving the communication process within the R&D department, which resulted in the first on-time software shipment for Allen Communication. Introduced structured testing concepts by developing procedural checklists, resulting in less than 0.01% post-release technical support calls.
